Gender

Even in this civilisation (being 2008), women still see alot of various forms of harrasment. There are various forms of this which still occur, the main way it is seen is that women are still seen as the lower gender compared to men and are treated differently because of this. This happens as men have always been seen as the superior and that thought still goes on today. There are various ways this is done, one of the main ways is publications such as The Sun's Page three as this is showing women as a model to men and therefore men may think that all women are like that. Also, it is not very often that you would possibly find a women in a high position such as a manager or a job equivalent to this, this will be due to men normally taking up such positions as women are seen as the inferior sex. However some would not agree with this as women are now getting better jobs and are trying to make theirselves better in civilisation, thisis mainly beem done through education as women are trying to rid of the inferior sex.

There are more women at work now then they ever have been. But the issue still is that women do not get equal pay as men.'On the other hand, several aspects of the quality of women’s work remain problematic. Despite the fact that women represent 59% of university graduates and have a better educational attainment, their employment rate remains lower than men's (by 14.4 points) and they continue to earn on average 15% less than men for every hour worked'. http://europa.eu/rapid/pressReleasesAction.do?reference=IP/08/79&format=HTML&aged=0&language=EN

I think men and women both work hard and should get equal pay. There are some sites that I have come across that are quite offensive. They are published by men who think that they are better at certain jobs then women. But I think women are just as good and can take up any challenges. Many years ago certain jobs were seen as just for men for example fireman which is now changed to firefighter to represent both men and women. Men who think they are superior to women have a hatred towards women as they don't like the idea that they are at the same level or are paid more and might want to see women below them.
